I have just returned from a lovely visit with my artist sister, Susan, in the San Diego area. I admire her so much. She is smart, a gifted painter, has a great sense of humor and is just an all around fun person- such an inspiration! Here are a few shots from my time with her. The cow is a detail from one of her paintings. Susan and I were surprised to see the door in a restaurant- she'd just told me that morning of a dream she had the night before about a door with 4 circles. lovely lazy sunday

Today was a warm, sunny, cloudy and snowy day! What a mixture of weather we had, all of it lovely! We enjoyed a trip to the Baltimore Museum of Art for a fabulous show of Cezanne's works and the American artists he inspired, then lunch out at the delicious and quite vegetarian One World Cafe. Once back home, I finished up filing my taxes (Thanks Clyde!) and just enjoyed the closing of the day. I am so appreciating the later sunsets. At 6:15 the sun had just about given up to darkness, a treat from the usual wintery 5:00. Beautiful piano music (Arthur Foote) is playing on WBJC's sunday evening radio program, Toccata. A satisfying end to a contentment-filled weekend.

Vintage Post Cards.............

I love old postcards and have collected them all my life. Even though I find it most convenient to communicate with friends and family electronically, I miss writing letters. For a long time I tried putting pen to paper regularly, but eventually I stopped all together. Fortunately we can still find beauty in vintage postcards. They are widely available at antique stores and flea markets. Such lovely writing can usually be found on the reverse of fun, pretty, cute or even comical images. What a fun peek into the not very recent past! Here I have included images from some of my favorite.

Always Animals & Art

One of my sisters just sent me a copy of this drawing I did when I was 12 or so- which would be almost 40 years ago! Looking at it one can see how both animals and art have been with me for a very long time. My sister's critique: "full of positive energy!" Thanks Meriwether!
